Arriving in Montreal

Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is the main gateway to the city, with direct flights from major hubs across North America, Europe and beyond.

By air

YUL is about 20 km from the conference venue. Journey time is roughly 30–45 minutes by taxi, rideshare or the 747 Express bus to downtown.

Local transport

Montreal's STM metro and bus network is reliable and affordable. The venue is close to Sherbrooke and McGill metro stations. Taxis, Uber and Lyft are widely available.

Visa & invitation letters

International participants who need a Canadian visa should apply as early as possible.

Conference invitation letter

Eligible registered delegates may request an official invitation letter to support their visa application. The letter confirms conference participation only and does not guarantee visa approval. Canadian immigration authorities make all visa decisions independently.

To request a letter, please register first and then email contact@simanovaexchange.com with your full name, passport number, affiliation and registration confirmation number.

Scholarship travel support

The Simanova Global Excellence Scholarship provides a limited number of funded places for outstanding applicants.

Conference registration includes scheduled refreshments, lunches and networking meals during official programme activities. Scholarship recipients may receive additional meal support as outlined in their award letter.

Weather in December

Montreal in December is typically cold and snowy, with temperatures usually between -6°C and 1°C (21°F to 34°F). Bring warm layered clothing, a waterproof winter coat, insulated boots and comfortable indoor shoes.
